The Night Before an Inbound Marketing Christmas

The Night Before an Inbound Marketing Christmas

By Roman KniahynyckyjDec 22 /2010

InboundMarketingChristmasTwas the night before an Inbound Marketing Christmas, when all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring not even a computer mouse

The stockings were hung by the front desk with care

In hopes that effective calls to action soon would be there

The Kuni were nestled all snug at their desks

With visions of landing pages so picturesque

And @cspenn all a twitter, and @chrisbrogan in his guru cap,

Had just signed off for a brief winter's nap,

When on Facebook’s home page there arose such a noise,

@jmctigue tweeted to alert the girls and the boys!

Away to a new window I flew (no one really likes flash),

Opened up Chrome fearing IE just might crash

The monitor it did glow on the new-fallen snow

Giving luster and light to objects below

When, what to my fatigued eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eleven tiny reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively, such a hotshot,

I knew in a moment it must be @HubSpot.

More rapid than tech support his coursers they came,

And they whistled, and tweeted, and called them by name;

"Now @chrisknipper! Now @jamischneider! now @ waltwinchel, @lauraliatti, and @kniahynyckyj!

On @danielulichney and @cpollittiu!  On @maddieweber! On @revjimmyskids, on @kaysassmith and @vknipper

To the top of the screen! Above the fold!

Now be specific! Be creative! Dare to be bold!"

As misplaced h1 tags that before the wild hurricane flee,

When they meet with a competitor, grab a PPC,

So high up in Google organic the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of SEO, and @HubSpot too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the pipeline @mvolpe came with a bound.

He was dressed all in orange, in the @HubSpot groove,

And his clothes a bit tarnished with edits and removes;

A bundle of gadgets he had flung on his back,

And he looked like an @mashable review just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they sparkled and his smile, so merry!

His cheeks like roses, his nose like a “Download Now” button in cherry!

His whole profile was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the Cambridge snow;

The off-page SEO he held tight in his hand,

And the graphs on the page encircled like a band;

He had a pot of knowledge and a desire to share,

He looked sincere when he asked to sit in my chair.

He was making a video, to go viral on YouTube,

And I laughed when I saw him, complex like Rubik's Cube;

A wink of his eye and a snap of his wrist,

Soon gave me to know I was nice on his list;

He mumbled a word, and the video I did tweak,

but I was much to dumbfound to speak,

Then laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Inbound Marketing Christmas to all,
 and to all a good-night."
