Facebook Pages App Now Meets Page Managers' Needs

Facebook pages applicationIf you manage Pages for your company or clients on Facebook, your life just got a little easier. As of yesterday a new version of the fairly young Pages App for Facebook was made available with an upgrade incorporating exactly what many managers have requested.

What’s new

  • Page managers are able to view and reply to messages
  • You can adjust how often you receive notifications about Pages activity
  • See answers to questions and guest lists for events created on your Pages

The app still maintains the previous, basic functions, such as: letting admins check on their Page activity, view insights, and respond to their audience. And no need to worry if you manage multiple pages; there is a convenient icon in the top left corner of the app that contains a drop-down list of all the Pages you manage, up to 50. Once you select a Page, you can access the insights information to see total Likes, people talking about your Page, weekly total reach, and a trends chart.

The app is only available on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, requiring iOS 4.2 or later. Visit the support page if you need help or have additional questions about the Pages Manager app.

I tried this app for about a week before ditching it. I like the idea of app, but it wasn't practical for myself. It would be better if you could turn off notifications from a certain page (I have pages where I'm an admin, but don't contribute content to). I would've also liked to have seen this integrated right into the regular Facebook app.

Hopefully in time this app will prove itself valuable. Great article. Thanks for posting!

Thanks Richard! One of the new features of the upgraded version allows you to change how often you receive notifications from the various Pages you're an admin on. But even if altering the notification settings still doesn't work, hopefully the next version will integrate options that work better.
